If you have a humbucker equipped budget-range Gretsch, don't think you can't have the proper pick-ups in it. It is a fiddly job, but IT CAN BE DONE. Proper full size pots (including those giant CTS push/pulls) can be retrofitted and the results are phenomenal. Split to single at the neck works well, but stick to parallel wiring for the pull option on the bridge. This one received a Powertron at the neck and a Classic Plus at the bridge; a proper PIO cap on the CTS tone control; and some proper knobs to finish the job properly.
P.s Sorry about the low speaking volume. I couldn't wait to do this demo and didn't set up the voice recording properly.
