18 December 2021 - Abu Dhabi to Spain | 404
Day 3: After a much needed 8hr sleep, today we explore the surroundings of Reus and the province of Priorat. 🚗☁️
We head out after breaky through the misty mountains to el Castell de Siurana. This was a moorish outpost in the 12th century before being taken over by the Christians. It was said that the Moorish queen in her last act of resistance leapt off the edge with her horse which left a footprint on the rock. 🐎👸🏽
For our second stop we head north to Mountblac, a fortified city built in the medieval times. Also founded in the 12 century, it is the most well preserved fortified city in Catalunya. We also have a late lunch with a 2 course meal, desert, and free shots on the house! I can understand now why Spanish people have siestas after lunch!
We head back to Reus to end the day at the local viewpoint and made it in time to catch the sunset. What a day! 🌄🚁
