On January 27th into the overnight of January 28th a very strong Arctic front moved through from Canada. Out in front of that front wind gusts were recorded over 65 MPH at times. This video features peak wind gust close to 60 MPH. In addition to that strong bands of lake enhanced snow moved through late Monday into early Tuesday morning. Snowfall rates of 2-3" per hour at times created whiteout conditions. The snow on the ice blew over into the roads leading to road closures and stranded vehicles. Snowfall drifts were over 10 ft in some locations.
