Chandelles 🛩️

Описание: Among the commercial maneuvers, the Chandelle is surprisingly tricky. It consists of a climbing, 180° turn with maximum altitude gain. Chandelles allow you to demonstrate your understanding of aircraft performance, your “feel” for the airplane, and coordination of the flight controls. ✈︎

Here’s some tips when performing a Chandelle:
1. Particularly in the second half of the maneuver, or the second 90°, right rudder is required to counteract the left turning tendencies due to the slower airspeed.
2. Choose a visual reference off the wingtip to serve as your 90° point. If the maneuver is completed correctly, the point you picked out will be off your opposite wingtip upon rollout.
3. During the second half of the maneuver, additional back pressure will be required to maintain a constant pitch attitude due to less control effectiveness as airspeed decreases.

Common errors when performing Chandelles include:
1. Too much bank will cause you to complete the maneuver too quickly and with too much airspeed.
2. Not enough bank will lead to a stall before completing the maneuver.
3. Be sure to keep your eyes outside the airplane and avoid fixation on your instruments.
