Each month we will discuss the current efforts of JCAHC, along with inviting guest speakers to present upon housing issues which affect our community. In December 2025, students from Grinnell College who reflected on recent collaborations and continue conversations sparked by the recently hosted Local Motive series.
The Local Motive series explored practical, people-centered solutions to housing affordability, bringing together local leaders, advocates, and residents to discuss how our region can support incremental, community-driven housing development. The goal: to make housing more affordable, accessible, and sustainable throughout Johnson County. Learn more about the Local Motive series later in this newsletter.
Students from Grinnell College’s Applied Policy Analysis course were assisting with the next phase — translating the ideas and discussions from the series into actionable recommendations for Iowa City.
