The rising interest rates will hurt overvalued end of the market & not smallcap companies, believes market veteran Shankar Sharma. In an interview with ET NOW, Sharma said he feels the large caps & new-age tech stocks will underperform markets in the rising interest rate scenario. He the worst is over for the smallcap space, at least on a stock-by-stock basis. HDFC Bank, Asian Paints, HUL are still expensive; new-age tech companies continue to be expensive, he said. According to him, it is impossible for ‘consensus large names’ to sustain 15-20% growth.
