Welcome to Durotar, the starting zone for Orcs and Trolls in classic World of Warcraft. This is the second part in our Durotar journey. The quests are mainly located near Razor Hill.
Razor Hill is strategically built at the junction of three major roads: the south leads to the starting zones, the north to the capital of Orgrimmar, and the west to The Barrens.
Lore-wise, Razor Hill is famous as the site of a tense summit between Thrall and Jaina Proudmoore shortly after the Third War. The summit was actually a trap set by Jaina’s father, Admiral Proudmoore. However, the beastmaster Rexxar took Thrall’s place and defeated the assassins.
Grand Admiral Daelin Proudmoore refused to believe the Orcs could ever be peaceful. He led a fleet to Kalimdor to and built Tiragarde Keep as his main base of operations on the mainland.
Daelin’s actions actually broke the peace treaty between his daughter, Jaina Proudmoore, and Thrall. Jaina eventually stood aside as the Horde defeated her father, leading to his death.
