The Four Wise Kings and the Befana
01 – A great Comet Star crossed the sky like a shining lighthouse, and everyone understood that something wonderful was happening.
02 – In a small stable in Bethlehem, warmed by the oxen, sheep and donkey were Baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
03 – Around them, the shepherds with their sheep watched wide-eyed, and holding their breath with wonder
04 – Then the Three Wise Kings arrived: Melchior with gold, Gaspar with incense, and Balthazar with myrrh, and, dismounting their camels, approuched the baby Jesus with the care trying, not to trip over their long royal robes.
05 – Meanwhile, the fourth king, Artaban, was held up yet again but this time by a kindly Befana, who was strugelling to put a bag full of coal for naugthy children on her broomstick
06 – In return for his kind help she offer him a lift and they flew off togheter over the clouds towards Bethellem.
07 – Artaban and the Befana reached the stable a bit windswept, but happy, and Mary and Joseph welcomed them warmly
08 – Then Artaban and the Befana looked at the baby with love, looking at each other tenderly: they understood that, from that day on, their journey of love would continue together.
09 – And so they flew off again on the broom, happy among stars, while the Comet Star shone brighter than ever.
1o - And that’s why the Befana and the fourth Wise King always arrive late… their hearts always make one more stop
