Описание: Today I am joined by Lars Wilde, Co-Founder and CEO of Pangea Botanica, a company that is accelerating the discovery and development of therapeutics inspired by naturally occurring compounds and traditional remedies.

Lars is a successful serial entrepreneur in healthcare, tech and biotech. Five years ago he took magic mushrooms in an attempt to cure a severe episode of anxiety and depression. He was so impressed by the results that he co-founded Compass Pathways, a NASDAQ listed company that has taken psilocybin, the psychedelic component of magic mushrooms, through to the completion of a successful Phase 2 trial for treatment resistant depression.

This continuing interest in nature inspired medicine led Lars to co-found another company, Pangea Botanica. Pangea takes a platform approach of setting up operating companies that develop novel therapeutics from natural compound scaffolds and optimised analogues, increasing the likelihood of success and reducing the time to patients, compared to contemporary drug development. Pangea aims to preserve ethnobotanical knowledge and habitats through benefit sharing with traditional communities and the mutually beneficial involvement of knowledge holders in the drug development process.
