I graduated from film school in 2007 and I’m still upset to this day that they didn’t teach the business side of filmmaking.
So that’s why I make these videos.

Right after film school, I started my first video production company.
I picked a name, made a fancy business card, learn basic coding and make a website. And nothing happened.

Then I realized I had to tell people about my services. So I started going to the chamber of commerce meetings. I was hoping to give my business cards to someone and they would hire me. Not much came of that either.

Then, I found out about lists that had the name and emails of business owners. I got a list and started emailing.

Then some sales guru seminar I watched said it’s a numbers game. You just got to get 1 out of 100. Not for me.

And I tried a bunch of other stuff that didn’t work.

What finally worked was organic content. When business owners have a question, they search for an answer using Google and YouTube.

At the time, I started to write blog posts. I learned google SEO and my business really took off.

Now I do the exact same thing with YouTube. I find my target audience that I want to make videos for, find out what kind of questions they are asking and make videos with a specific answers.

With Youtube, it’s easier than ever and we all already have the skills to make videos. For faster results, you can also do the same with YouTube ads.
