1. First use a finger or wrist monitor to record what your heart rate is and how fast it is. If possible, use a wrist device that also records your EKG and save the fast heart rate EKGs on your phone.

2. Show your monitor results to your primary care provider as there are many reversible causes of fast heart rates like sinus tachycardia and your primary care provider may be able to help you with the reversible causes and resolve your fast heart rate.

3. If not see a cardiologist, they likely will do an event or Holter monitor in addition to potentially other cardiac test to determine further what fast heart rhythm it is and how often it’s occurring and that will then help determine what the best treatment options are.

4. If you do not have the fast heart rates while wearing the Holter or event monitor, consider getting a more advanced home EKG monitoring device
