Performed live at my Graduate Recital at Utah State University.
Chopin’s Second Sonata is one of the most dramatic and profound works in the piano repertoire. Composed between 1837–1839, it is perhaps best known for its haunting third movement – the famous “Funeral March” – but the sonata as a whole is a masterpiece of contrast and intensity. From the fiery urgency of the opening Allegro, to the turbulent Scherzo, the solemn gravity of the Funeral March, and finally the mysterious, fleeting whirlwind of the Finale, this sonata captures the full range of human emotion.
Preparing and performing this monumental work was both an artistic and personal milestone. It demanded not only technical precision but also deep emotional commitment, as I sought to convey the raw power and beauty embedded in Chopin’s writing.
🙏 This performance, part of my Graduate Recital at Utah State University, represents the culmination of years of study, discipline, and passion for music.
