In this account, Moses expresses fear that the Israelites will doubt his divine commission, prompting the Lord to equip him with three miraculous signs: transforming his rod into a serpent, rendering his hand leprous and then restoring it, and turning river water into blood. despite these assurances, Moses pleads that he is "slow of speech," which angers the Lord; consequently, God appoints Aaron to serve as Moses' spokesman while Moses acts as God to him.
Following this, Moses takes his family and the "rod of God" to return to Egypt, receiving a warning that Pharaoh’s heart will be hardened and a command to threaten Pharaoh’s firstborn son. On the journey, a strange encounter occurs where the Lord seeks to kill Moses, but his life is spared when his wife, Zipporah, circumcises their son and touches Moses’ feet with the foreskin. Upon reuniting in the wilderness, Moses and Aaron present these signs to the elders of Israel, causing the people to believe and worship the Lord for looking upon their affliction
