Simple Harmonic Oscillator - Energy Diagram

Описание: A mass on a spring starts from the origin and is given an initial velocity. As the mass oscillates around the equilibrium position, the total energy E stays constant while the kinetic and potential energies transform into one another. The red arrow half way through the video shows the kinetic energy as the difference between the total energy and the potential energy curve. Notice that the mass momentarily stops at the turning points where the potential energy curve equals the total energy before reversing direction and being pulled back into the potential well.
