11. SOUNDBITE (English) Estelle Lovatt, art critic:
"Love and romance in the art world, well, that's a really great thing to think about because don't forget a lot of artists took it from the canvas to the bedroom as well with their muses. But how they dealt with it is the colour palette, for example red. Red is a very passionate colour, the symbolism, what they would have included in their images. So roses, roses are the choice a flower to depict love."

14. SOUNDBITE (English) Estelle Lovatt, art critic:
"There's an outburst and showing of love where you think, right, I'm going to throw everything I can at the canvas. Some of the greatest artists, if you think of Rodin's The Kiss, out of marble. If you think about Klimt's The Kiss, where the figures are embodied making one. So love and art. Art comes from the heart."

18. SOUNDBITE (English) Tabish Khan, art critic:
"I think the nature of being an artist is it is very much about wearing your emotions on your sleeve. So what they feel is imparted into their work. So a lot of artists do make work about love and often the tragedy of lost love or infatuations that aren't realised. So you see it in works like there are some obvious ones. So think of Rodin's The Kiss or Gustav Klimt's Kiss as well, which are very romantic. But there's also things like Van Gogh with his bandaged ear that he cut off and he gave to a woman."
