Dollpamm bjds are quirky, unique and I really want their Yuki Rabbit Teeth head (discontinued). Processing time is long as they are handmade. You can see from the site's prices why a readily available recast for NZ$167 can hurt the company so much.

When fake dolls are bought the cost is that somewhere the artist is hurt. Their time designing, scuplting and investing their own money into their art is all for nought. Some BJD artists have left the profession because of stolen moulds.

Realistically BJD collecting is a rather elite group and it can be hard on those that want to join the hobby but simply can't because of cost. Many official forums will not let you 'join in' if you have recasts so buying a fake in the hopes of entering this hobby won't necessarily make you any friends. Some BJD collectors are downright mean (and though I don't agree with their methods, I understand their anger).

Imagine your disappointment of saving all year to buy an official BJD doll to find its mould has been stolen, recast and selling for a 1/3 of the value. It isn't fair to the artist, it isn't fair to the official purchaser.

Do I think this doll is worth the cost, absolutely. I can't fault her given the price. She's pretty, her plastic isn't cheap and the clothes are amazing.

I have a lot of official dolls and I have fake dolls. I really wish fake dolls didn't exist - but they do and they are probably here to stay. I will continue to purchase official dolls and I will purchase fake dolls that take my interest (like this one).

Last of all, you get more flies with honey than vinegar. Keep your emotions in check and gently pursuade rather than condemn.
