After having great success on the popular televison show, The Voice, in 2012, Martinez went on to release music of her own. Her debut album, Cry Baby, was released in 2015 and peaked at number 6 on the Billboard 200. Many of Martinez's songs have a creepy or haunting sound, in fact, Carousel was used in the a preview for FX's American Horror Story: Freak Show. Carousel was released in 2014 as a track on her debut EP, Dollhouse.
