In these games, the crisis isn’t something you prevent, that means you don’t get warning signs, and you don’t arrive in time to stop it. Instead you deal with the consequences of events that are already in motion.
In this video, I take a closer look at a group of space games that are built entirely around that idea.Games where the key turning point has already passed, and everything you do is shaped by arriving too late.
From fast, cockpit-focused combat to survival horror and narrative-driven experiences, these titles approach the same concept in completely different ways. Yet, they all put the player in the same position of being inside a situation that’s already gone wrong.
