A few shots of our day at Alston. The South Tynedale Railway had 0-6-0 Barber in steam and we see the comings and goings at Alston station as she prepares to take the 2.15 service to Kirkhaugh and Lintley Halt.
The station goods shed has been transformed; renamed 'The Hub', and houses The Heritage and Transport collection. I have included some footage from in there of cars, motor cycles and the magnificent EM gauge model railway of Alston as it was in the 1950s.
For the avoidance of doubt; the red MG does not have a rough running engine. It was parked near the exit and someone just drove up on a Vespa.
Seeing Barber today reminds me that it's the first one I've seen since 1989, which was when I swapped a full head of hair for a solar panel.
