Frome (Somerset) Half Marathon 17th August 2025

Описание: A Half I've run several times but - as usual, even with looking at the course profile - I couldn't remember it!

Well organised for ANY EVENT but particularly for a local Half (+ 10k and 5k) in a smallish town in Somerset.

Closed roads, chip timing, stalls and music. Some pacers - 1.50 and 2.10 amongst them.
4 water stations - small bottles.

Surprisingly lumpy!
I'd forgotten both the hill at 12 miles.... then another at 13 miles!

Hot(ish) day: clammy. I suffered on those hills.

I was slow - age, ½ stone(at least) over my fighting weight etc.
However first from 8 in VM65-69 - I was obviously not the only struggler! Inside top 40% overall. Better than anticipated when it seemed everyone was overtaking me in the last couple of miles.
