Majestic Hammock

Описание: After multiple attempts to film various gear review videos for this hammock, I finally decided to head out into the great outdoors, away from civilization. Earlier attempts were met with the sounds of grinders, lawn mowers, traffic, marching bands, airplanes, popup rain showers, and possibly a mob of angry villagers.

I won this Majestic Hammock at Hangcon 2025 back in January in sunny Florida, while the rest of the country was snow & ice. This was one of the Tier 3 prizes, and I passed up other hammock offerings to try out this hammock to see what all the buzz was about. At Hangcon, I met the owner of Majestic Hammocks, Kory Bleeker, who was very helpful about getting those most out of this style of hammock.

What’s the buzz, you may ask? Well, the Majestic is modular hammock design with a clean side profile. It doesn’t have dangling side pockets or clips & zippers all over the unit. You can use it as a sleeping lounger, or add on accessories like a bugnet, a ridgeline organizer, or an underquilt, to make the hammock suit whatever conditions you may use it in. With a separate bugnet, your diagonally flat lay won’t be limited by the constraints of zippered on bugnet. The hammock is cut a little differently, lays symmetrically, and has an internal shock cord suspension which allows you to tighten or loosen the tensioning on the sides of the hammock to create a headbox/footbox or open up the lay for more width. Other users, including Shug & Spiguyver, among others, say that this gathered end hammock sleeps more like a bridge hammock.

On Kory’s website, www.majestichammock.com, there are specifications, pricing, lead-times, color options, and other information about these hammocks. Every unit is handmade by Kory in Iowa. His business is currently a one-person operation. After Hangcon Florida and Hangcon Europe, the demand for these hammocks has increased, thus pushing out the current lead-times to the Fall of 2025 (as of May). The website features a sizing guide for which sizes of hammocks may fit best for you based on your height. They range in size from 10 ft, 10.5 ft, 11 ft, and 11.5 ft (the model shown). Based on my height, I fit in between a 10.5 ft and 11 ft model. At Hangcon, the 11 ft model fit me like a dream. The 11.5 ft model I won was a bit larger than I’m used to, but is still a comfortable lay when I’m not trying to talk to the camera. This is a wider hammock at 68 inch width. Pricing ranges from $245 to $260, depending on sizing, which includes two carabiners, tree straps, ridgeline, and dual sided stuff sack. An external bugnet can be purchased for an additional $70, and the adjustable ridgeline option costs an additional $12.
