Sheila Tabaka received a SMAC Artist Growth grant in 2024 to to take a two-week kilt making master class in Scotland conducted by the historical kilt maker, Nikki Laird, and visit Carloway Mill for demonstrations of historic tweed weaving. She gained first-hand knowledge on the weaving process of the tartans, traditions, and techniques of historic kilt making.
