Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 09:30 (CET), the SoBigData++ project will be presenting the SoBigData Award for Diversity and Inclusion live from the European Conference on Machine Learning and Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases in Turin (Italy).
We will interview the two awardees, Dr. Vijayalakshmi Saravanan, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of South Dakota, USA, and Monika Jain, PhD Scholar at the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi, India. These are the first two awardees of the SoBigData Award for Diversity and Inclusion, a yearly award that promotes the participation of computer and data scientists from under-represented minorities in conferences.
The two awardees will describe their academic experience and discuss with other panellists diversity and inclusion within the fields of data science and computer science.
