Rebecca Ringle, praised for her richly focused voice of "striking power and depth", young mezzo-soprano describes why she sees live performance as a birthright. She is joined at the piano by Composer and Yale Professor Joan Panetti.
Ringle recently joined the roster of the Metropolitan Opera for productions of Nixon in China, Die Walkyre, and Rigoletto. While the traditional role of an opera singer can be constricting, Rebecca maintains special interests in attracting new audiences and in the intersection between live performances and different sides of modern culture and society. Ms. Ringle is a summa cum laude graduate of Oberlin College (Comparative Literature) and Yale School of Music.]
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
