Messier 32 | a galaxy that was 'eaten' by the Andromeda galaxy |
Messier 32 (M32) or also known as NGC 221 is a galaxy that was swallowed up by the Andromeda galaxy. messier 32 is an elliptical galaxy that is a natural satellite of the Andromeda galaxy. messier 32 is relatively small compared to the Andromeda galaxy. This galaxy has a diameter of about 8000 light years and a much smaller mass than the Milky Way or Andromeda. This galaxy is located relatively close to the center of the Andromeda galaxy and is thought to have experienced strong gravitational interactions with Andromeda in the past, causing some of M32's galaxy material to be swallowed or ejected. Such evidence includes the unusual structure and composition of M32. Some of the matter in M32 appears to have been swallowed up or ejected by the strong gravitational interaction with Andromeda.
