Описание: The webinar, organized by UN DCO on behalf of the UNSDG Business Innovation Group, introduced WFP's Global Shared Services (GSS) UN Digital Disposal & Auction services as a digital solution and platform that enables UN entities to manage and dispose of assets through online auctions efficiently. Developed by the UN for the UN, the solution supports both internal stakeholders and external partners, enabling standardized processes, faster turnaround times, and significant cost reductions.
The session highlighted the operational and financial benefits of adopting the UN System Online Auction service. By eliminating auctioneer fees, reducing transport and storage costs, and expanding audience reach through public registration and multilingual support, the platform delivers measurable efficiency gains. Additional features such as automated bid notifications, secure payment options, and real-time reporting enhance transparency and accountability, while mitigating fraud and reputational risks.

Looking ahead, the UN System Online Auction service aims to scale across agencies through Service Level Agreements and shared governance under the UN Reform agenda. This initiative aligns with the UNSDG Efficiency Roadmap and the Secretary-General's vision for harmonized business operations, fostering collaboration and cost optimization. By leveraging technology and inter-agency partnerships, the solution not only maximizes the value of surplus assets but also supports sustainability goals by reducing waste and promoting resource reuse.
