Now how did Car Cave happen to get an Ape? Well, we just happened to be in Rome and had a couple hours to burn in-between meetings. Like any good crew twiddling their thumbs, we took to the internet to look for cars because the Colosseum will be there next year! The seller lived about 45 minutes from our Villa and was available to show the Ape. So we jammed down south in a rented Fiat Abarth and took the Piaggio for a test run. It was love at first sight, so we shook hands, broke some bread, and drank some vino.
