During an Integral Yoga retreat in the early 1980s, Swami Satchidananda was asked to speak about samadhi, the state of oneness that yogis seek. He explains, "When the mind is balanced, free from turbulence, it becomes crystal clear and that is samadhi of the mind." He goes on to say that there’s no samadhi for the spirit because the spirit is always pure—it’s the divine in us. He also speaks about how tests arrive to test the tranquility of spiritual seekers. "If you truly experience samadhi, nothing should shake your equanimity."
