Sachin Bishnoi, the nephew of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, through a virtual call to a news channel, has claimed responsibility for the murder of popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Sachin has termed the murder as an ‘act of ‘revenge.’

Sachin told the news channel that he killed Moosewala with ‘his own hands’ and that Moosewala’s killing was retaliation for the killing of Vikramjit Singh Middukhera better known as Vicky Middukhera. Vicky was shot dead in Mohali, on August 7, 2021.

Vicky Middukhera was a Youth Akali Dal leader. As per reports, he had once supported Lawrence Bishnoi when he contested as a leader of the Students Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU) at DAV College.
Sachin Bishnoi said that Moosewala’s name had ‘come up’ in the Middukhera case investigation, but the police did not take any action and that is why he killed him. Sachin Bishnoi said that Moosewala was not killed for any ‘publicity stunt’ nor for ‘ransom,’ but because he ‘financially supported and arranged for the shelter’ of gangsters who killed Vicky Middukhera.

While Sachin Bishnoi himself claimed responsibility of Moosewala’s murder, he called gangster Lawrence Bishnoi a ‘follower of Bajrang Bali and an icon of the whole nation.’

Sidhu Moosewala was assassinated in Mansa district in Punjab on May 29. The killing took place just a day after Punjab government curtailed his security along with several VVIPs. Moosewala was intercepted and shot multiple times when he was travelling in his vehicle. He died within 15 minutes of the attack.
