*What happens when a multicultural family of 7 *japada back to Nigeria?** 🌍🇳🇬
In this unforgettable vlog, you’ll walk with us through the ups, downs, and pure laughter of our first month home.
The story kicks off with our kids drinking *Nigerian “pure water”* for the very first time — a moment every returnee family can relate to. The next morning, Pablo surprises us all by making *Dan Wake* (northern Nigerian bean dumplings)… and it was such a hit, we will be sharing the recipe over on our cooking channel 👉 @PABLANUSKITCHEN.
But japada life isn’t all fun and food — Pablo, after weeks of staying home with the kids while Anu handled errands (thanks to her fluent Yorùbá), needed a break. At the *mechanic shop in Akure**, Tulio found joy chasing turkeys, and Pablo finally got to share how challenging this hectic first month was on his mental and physical health. 🧠💛 It’s a reminder to everyone: **self-care is not selfish.*
The adventure doesn’t stop there — Pablo opens up about battling *gut health issues* (diarrhea + h. pylori), losing weight, and being comforted by our sweet kids. We even paused to watch our feature film, My Love From Another Land (now streaming on @FAMILIAPABLANUPRODUCTIONS). 🎬
Later, we explored land for future agriculture 🌱… but the climax? At night, the kids and Pablo caught **giant flying termites (esunsun/white ants)**! We roasted them, Pablo ate them, and let’s just say… he ended up looking like Will Smith in *Hitch*. 🤣
👉 From pure water to termite feasts, this vlog is our most adventurous yet — full of culture, family, resilience, and laughter. You don’t want to miss the ending!
