22. RDR2 - Mission #22 A Strange Kindness Complete GOLD MEDAL Walkthrough

Wanting the gang to lie low after the trouble in Valentine, Dutch asks Arthur and Charles to scout out a new camp location at Dewberry Creek.

STORY
After getting involved in a shootout in Valentine, Arthur rides back to camp to find the gang packing up. Dutch says that Micah told him of a good hideout spot at Dewberry Creek, and sends Arthur and Charles to check it out.
Upon reaching the dried-up creek, the pair notes it's a poor spot and they find a dead body in the riverbed. They soon find a small camp nearby and a German family hiding under a wagon. The family could hardly speak English. However, the daughter managed to communicate that the father had been kidnapped. Arthur doesn't want to look for him, but Charles convinces him, and the two rides off to search for the man.
They follow a horse trail and reach a clearing by Flat Iron Lake. They find the father tied up, but are attacked by bandits. Once the assault has been put down, Arthur unties the man and takes him back to his family. While riding back, he tells Arthur (in German) his family runs a gold mining business, and he was being held for ransom. Arthur doesn't understand what the man is saying. On returning to his family, the man gives Arthur a gold bar as a token of appreciation for rescuing him.
Later, the rest of the gang meets up with Arthur at their new campsite. Dutch likes the look of it and assures Arthur that they will make the best of it.

GOLD MEDAL OBJECTIVES
1 - Return the captive to his family within 1 minute and 40 seconds.
2 - Get 5 headshots.
3 - Complete with at least 80% accuracy.
4 - Complete the mission without taking any health items.

TRIVIA
There are three bits of foreshadowing quotes that Arthur will remember at the end of Chapters 5 and 6 if his Honor is low:
Immediately before this mission, Hosea can be heard talking to Dutch, where he says, "Turned into a bunch of killers, I mean it" - a line which Arthur remembers in "A Fork in the Road" if his honor is low.
Once the mission starts, Dutch will make a comment to Arthur on how to find a new camp with Charles, saying, "You have turned into my son." After this mission, Hosea can be found at a random campfire event at night, when he says, "My Pa used to say if you stare into the fire long enough, you can see the whole world pass by". Arthur remembers both lines during his final ride in the "Red Dead Redemption" mission.
When Arthur and Charles are tracking down Andreas, the player can use Eagle Eye to track Andreas themselves. If done quickly and correctly, Arthur will inform Charles of the direction that Andreas went before Charles figures it out himself, noting both the player and Arthur's growing skill. This works even while Arthur himself is distracted while talking about the gang.
During the mission, Arthur tells Charles that Dutch would never hide, or the gang, in a cave as it was against everything Dutch stood for. Ironically, the gang's final hideout is connected to a cave.
If you look at the shotgun the woman holds against Charles and Arthur, the hammers are not cocked.
If the player aims a weapon at the woman, she will immediately begin shooting at Arthur, failing the mission.
Even if the player finds the dead man's body before Charles does, Charles will still say the same dialogue as if he found it first.
After rescuing the man, Charles will ride back to the center of the Horseshoe Overlook camp and remain on his horse. Despite the fact that the gang is meant to be packing up and moving, they all behave normally and the camp remains unchanged, with the exception of Arthur's quarters, which have disappeared.
The mission description incorrectly spells Dewberry as "Dewbury".
The "To Greener Pastures" achievement/trophy, earned upon completion of Chapter 2, is a reference to a quote by Irish at the end of the Red Dead Redemption mission We Shall Be Together in Paradise.
