Hong Kong-Style French Toast Ingredients
3 slice of white bread with crust
2 tablespoon of unsalted peanut butter with no sugar added
1 egg
40g milk
oil for frying
2 tablespoon of condense milk
knob of butter
How to cook:
1. Spread 1 tablespoon of peanut butter on one slice of bread.
2. Repeat process. Spread 1 tablespoon of peanut butter on another slice of bread.
3. Stack the bread.
4. Cut the crust of the bread.
5. In a bowl, whisk 40ml of milk and egg.
6. Pour oil into a pan and heat it up to medium low.
7. Coat the bread lightly on all sides. Do not soak the bread in the egg mixture.
8. Add the bread coated with egg mixture into the heated pan. You should hear a slight sizzling sound.
9. Fry till golden brown on all sides.
10. Drain the toast on kitchen towel before serving.
11. Serve with a knob of butter and drizzle of condensed milk.
French Toast Fries
1. Soak left over bread crust in the left over egg mixture.
2. Once fully soak, shallow fry the toast fries until golden brown.
3. Drain the fries before serving.
