TLDR- super full and clacky sound with a light tactile bump thats a bit more pronounced than the other hmx light tactiles, bit of scratch but no other weird noises.

INTRO

these guys are my 3rd switch design that ive been working on since early this year. I wanted to make a slightly scratch and extra full and clacky but not ear piercing light tactile. after a lot of help and advice from unikeys and hmx and multiple batches of samples and testing I think we nailed it here. we settled on a pom stem, pom top housing using the newest molds to minimize syringe effect, thickened n1 nylon bottom - same material as one of my favorite linear hmx switches sunny v2. but with a thickened bottom out contact area for a extra full, slightly deeper sound and clean bottom out. and a 22mm 55g spring.
I won't go too in-depth on the review since we already talked about them in the sample vid and the production run thankfully turned out exactly like the samples.

SOUND

the sound on these imo is one of the best from hmx, they are extra full and clacky but not super loud or ear piercing. the sound compared to some of the other light tactiles- they are more similar to yamatake than k01, but a bit deeper/fuller and slightly quieter. the yamatake are also a bit smoother, valerian does have a bit of audible scratch, thought not as much as k01.

QUALITY / FEEL

the quality is ofc as you can expect from hmx here, super tight tolerances and consistent lubing. there are a few switches here and there that will have a bit of leaf noise, but while typing it isn't noticeable. the bump is also a bit more pronounced than the other light tactiles for some reason, maybe due to the shorter travel and heavier spring. though the k01 actually have a heavier spring. we originally meant for these to have 3.8 travel and I could've sworn I tested the samples at 3.8 but its actually around 3.4. I had just got the calipers when I first tested so I guess I must have been doing it wrong XD. either way, the shorter really improves the feel on them imo.

FINAL THOUGHTS

lot of time and sample testing to get these just right, man im just super happy with how these turned out. might not be for everyone but I think most should be really happy with the feel and sound of these guys. super satisfying sound and typing experience.
