After attending the ALDHA Gathering in Massachusetts, I headed to Maine and Baxter State Park where I had reserved a lean-to for two nights. I arrived on October 12th too late to start heading up Katahdin. Which was unfortunate, as it was a beautiful day. The next day? Not so much.
This is about as bad weather-wise as I'd climb Katahdin. Any worse than this and I would have turned around at treeline. As it was, I made it up and down okay, and ended up helping another dayhiker make it down safely.
Spent the rest of the time feeding Thru-hikers who were completing their walks.
