We are honoured to be featured in ‪@CNN‬'s global hashtag#CallToEarth 2025 – Guard Your Green Space campaign.

At Yomelela Primary School in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, a once-vacant plot has become a 300m² regenerative food garden, now supplementing daily meals for over 1,000 learners and serving as a practical, nature-based learning hub.

This initiative demonstrates the power of sustainable investment in education and green infrastructure. The garden delivers both environmental and social value:

1. Environmental impact: converting neglected land into a protected, productive green space
2. Community impact: improving school nutrition, creating employment, and equipping children with essential sustainability skills

This project was made possible through the visionary support of Nevermined GmbH and mandana Jewellery and the expertise of Urban Harvest Edible Gardens. Their commitment to long-term, meaningful impact has enabled Earthchild Project to create a model that integrates ecological care, food security, and youth development.
