INCREDIBLE ANCIENT GATED Drolet Traction Elevator at Auberge Internationale in Quebec City, QC

Now THIS is what I call a REAL Elevator right here!!!
Located at an Old Hostel that is made up of several 1700s and 1800s Buildings, right in the heart of Old Quebec is this AMAZING GATED Drolet Elevator!
I honestly was NOT expecting this place to have an elevstor to begin with, and if it did have one, I certainly wasn't expecting it to have this piece of BEAUTY!!! But indeed, it does!!!
This elevator is technically a staff only elevator, but they do let guests ride it if they have disabilities that require them to use the elevator. That said, I wasn't really supposed to be on this thing, but I'm sure glad I rode it successfully without any problems nonetheless!
Literally EVERYTHING about this elevator is AMAZING from the "DROLET" logo, the VERY RARE & UNIQUE Fixtures, the Motor, the Vintage Outer Doors that fit in with the time period this place was built very nice, you name it! This elevator is a TREASURE and it runs like a CHAMP!!!
Obviously, being this is technically a service elevator, the cab isn't anything too special and is quite worn out, not to mention it is also kind of being used as a Storage Closet by Housekeeping staff but honestly, WHO CARES!?!?
This thing is TOTALLY Original, Runs FLAWLESSLY and deserves to remain as is for MANY YEARS to come!
And if you think this elevator is EPIC, it's just a small part to this AMAZING HISTORIC Property!!! The theater rooms and many rooms surrounding the lobby feature their original fixtures including their wooden floors, and this building even features a functioning Telephone box inside with ROTARY Phones!!!
As stated, the oldest wing of this property was built in the 1700s, the elevator was installed probably sometime within the 1930s and 1950s, but as to exactly when, I'm not sure.

Regardless though, this elevator and the building that houses it is really freakin cool and definitely worth checking out on a visit to Old Quebec!!! You most certainly won't regret it!
