Renault 5 GT Turbo Dimma gets a Restomod Refurb

Описание: Renault 5 GTTs were one of the hot hatches of the 1980s and 1990s. Renault 5 Turbos were hugely popular in the modified car scene, with tuning companies like Carisma Auto Design enhancing the styling and interiors of the Renault Five. Ali G made them even more famous due to the 2002 hit film Ali G Indahouse. The unicorns of all Hot Hatches in the 1990s were the hand built, metal body Dimma cars. The iconic flared arches inspired many companies to make copies, and the one that features in this video has a Skeete kit. But that's only half the story of this car, as it was rescued by ‪@meguiarsuk‬ and then given a 21st Century Renaultsport twist, including 172 engine swap. Tom from Meguiar's talks us through the restomod and the inspiration that makes the Renault 5 Turbo one of the best examples in the UK today!

Chassis: 7×16” (front) and 8×16” (rear) Dimma 3-piece split-rims – refurbed by The Wheel Specialist Fareham, 205/45 Nankang AR1 tyres, custom Bilstein B14 coilovers, MMR performance rear beam, Powerflex bushes, stock callipers fully refurbished at EBC Brakes, EBC Yellow stuff pads, EBC discs, Forge Motorsport braided lines, Garage Midnight stud conversion

Interior: Renaultsport Recaro CS front seats, rear bench trimmed with Renaultsport cloth to match, yellow Renaultsport seat belts, grey Renault carpet, Campus dash, Campus doorcards (Campus trim used to show off 3-stage pearl), Kenwood audio.
