Описание: Engagement is not compliance. It is the child’s active emotional and attentional involvement in an interaction. Research consistently shows that children learn language and social skills best during shared attention experiences. For neurodivergent children especially, engagement must feel safe and regulated before new demands are introduced. If a child is dysregulated or disconnected, instruction will not stick. Starting engagement means prioritizing connection over correction.
