The short answer is yes. Read bottom of description to find out the instructions from amsoil.
I used amsoil engine flush on a 1997 Ford ranger with 215k miles on it. For the first oil change at 210,000 miles I used Royal Purple with an extended life STP Oil Filter. I used a higher capacity filter since Royal Purple has a lot of detergents and can clean out dirty engines. So a higher capacity filter will have better filtration and be able to hold more contaminates.
The flush itself was done with brand new conventional oil and a brand new filter. I was suspicious that there was a lot of build up inside the engine. The first oil change I ever did on this truck had a super cheap filter on it and the oil was definitely overdue.
Royal Purple is expensive but it will remove buildup and gunk from inside the engine.
However Project Farm has done a lot of testing with Amsoil. Amsoil consistently does better in all of project farms testing.
Please check out project farms YouTube channel he puts a lot of work into his content and he does a great job testing and comparing products.

Amsoil directions
Engine: Add entire bottle of AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush to engine oil fill port. Idle the engine for 10-15 minutes, then immediately drain the oil. Ensure enough time for the system to completely drain. Remove and replace the engine oil filter. Refill engine with new engine oil in the viscosity grade recommended by the manufacturer.
