"And really we weighed up all the odds. It's so important for us to come here for our child. We felt that it outweighed any risk to us from SARS at all. As a doctor, I looked at the evidence for it and looked at numbers of cases, and we as a group decided that it is safe to come here, and a beautiful child over there, it made it all worth while. We are not concerned."

Our trip was cancelled a few days before we were due to fly out and we were very fortunate to be able to persuade appropriate people to allow us to come. STORYLINE:
The last group of adoptive parents left Beijing on Tuesday morning after China announced a suspension of foreign adoptions to help curb the spread of SARS last Friday.
The group of five British parents returned to London after they picked up their Chinese daughters in Changsha, in the central China province of Hunan.
The little girls are aged between eight months and a little over a year.
With help from the government-run China Centre of Adoption Affairs, the group was able to travel to China after their trip was originally cancelled.
The centre is still processing adoptions, but has stopped sending out documents authorising new parents to come to China.
It said travel documents, issued for foreign parents to come to China to be matched with children, would have their validity extended for six months so they could travel after the suspension is lifted.
