Delhi Assembly holds emergency session to discuss control over administrative services

Описание: The Delhi Assembly has convened a two-day emergency, just days after the federal government led by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleared a bill to give it more control over services in the national capital. The Bharatiya Janata Party is in opposition in the Delhi Assembly, as the government is led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party. The Supreme Court had earlier given the Kejriwal government the upper hand in administration and control of civil servants. Mr Kejriwal has accused the centre of trying to "usurp" power through backdoor tactics.
