Kim’s Anger: North Korea arrests senior official of munitions dept. over warship launch failure

Описание: North Korea has arrested four officials, including a senior munitions department director, after a botched warship launch last week. The 5,000-ton destroyer tipped over during the ceremony, damaging its hull—an incident leader Kim Jong Un called a "criminal act" that harmed national pride.

State media KCNA said Ri Hyong-son, a Munitions Industry Department deputy director, was "largely responsible." Three Chongjin Shipyard officials—the chief engineer, construction head, and an administrative manager—were also detained.

Kim blamed "carelessness and irresponsibility" for the failure and ordered repairs before a key Workers' Party meeting in late June, calling it a matter of national honor.
