Sold new by Bryson Industries Victoria on the 9th June 1977 to Leeke Holdings Ararat this Jaguar XJ-S V12 pre H.E. presents in excellent original condition. The car comes with original Leyland passport to service, various original owner manuals, delivery information, wallet and spare keys. The pre H.E. XJ-S was 140 kg lighter than following H.E. and could reach a top speed of 154 mph. They could also sprint to 60 mph in just 6.7 seconds a figure comparable to the very last 6 litre cars. The purest of all XJ-S, the pre H.E. featured the much loved GKN Kent alloy wheels. Having been a country Victoria car its entire life this example is as good to drive today as it was when it left the showroom, whisper quiet with a beautiful ride. Being a 1977 example it is the first update with GM400 transmission which improved gear changes and kick down response. Inside the car presents in excellent original condition. The seats, carpets, door cards, dash and control panel are all very good. The period colour of Silver Frost over Red leather trim with distinctly 1970’s dash only adds to the patina of a Jaguar from a bygone era, Sir William Lyons would be proud. Any test welcome.
