Leather Groover Sharpening Hack- Do you know this one?

Описание: 👉Ok, so here’s the secret 6 step process!📢 A few of you have been asking me about groover sharpening and how to get a razor edge on the cutter.
I have posted about this before, but this is how you can get to the NEXT LEVEL of sharpness!

Often the hole in the cutter isn’t highly polished, and no amount of outside polishing is going to make any difference if this is the case.

Step 1: Cut a groove in some thick firm veg tan leather.

Step 2: Use the corner or edge of your polishing compound to apply a layer in the groove.

Step 3: Establish the correct polishing angle by finding the ‘biting point’. Start with the groover angle high, then pull back while lowering the angle until it just starts to cut onto the leather.

Step 4: Maintain this angle while pushing forward through your polishing groove a few times.

Step 5: Pull a piece of string across your polishing compound, then feed it through the rear of the cutter so you can polish the inside of the blade (pull string away from blade edge). Pay special attention to the tip and the sides which is where the blade is sharp (unlike the bottom).

Step 6: Test on scrap leather. If more polishing is needed, simply repeat the process until you are satisfied.
