Hear from Linda Phipps and Carla Dugan—proud, longtime residents of Galena, Kansas, a historic mining town along Route 66—and Co-Directors of the Galena Mining and Historical Museum. The museum sits on the site of the former Missouri-Kansas-Texas railroad depot, built in 1904. Ready for a refresh, the landmark needed a fresh coat of paint to help honor the town’s mining heritage.
“We wanted it done right. We wanted a good paint. It made a great deal of difference in us having it donated by Benjamin Moore,” said Carla Dugan.
Carly Turnbull, owner of Turnbull Painting, completed the project using Benjamin Moore Aura® Exterior paint. “You want good coverage, you want it to last a long time, and you want it to look really, really good—and for it to match perfectly. It hit all those boxes.”
Phipps hopes the refreshed exterior will welcome more visitors inside to discover how Galena is making its stretch of Kansas “the trip of a lifetime.”
