Simple (now) project for a very inexpensive DC train throttle that uses a common TV remote (Sony TV codes) and the Pixaxe 18M2 project board, with PWM DC on the track, for 2 or 3 rail. Great project to control the train under the Christmas tree! Code at the end of the video. Many more functions can be added to control turnouts/switches and a second throttle since the chip supports 2 PWM outputs at the same time. Set the frequency at 4 MHz for the PWM code in the video. Best to set the frequency at 8 MHz with a PWM range from 199, 0 to 199, 800. The IRL540N MOSFET might be a better choice.
