The century-old Art Nouveau building of Hotel Waldinger is protected as a cultural and environmental monument, which was designed and enriched with relief ornaments by architect and sculptor Antun Slaviček, Osijek Art Nouveau artist. The hotel is named after Adolf Ignjo Waldinger, Osijek painter from the 19th century, creator of the phenomenon known as “Osijek School of Painting” in the history of art. The profession has well recognized the persistent and dedicated work, and Hotel Waldinger is the holder of numerous awards and recognition.
