Ingredients
Milk Cake Preparation
• All-purpose flour - 1 cup
• Baking powder - 1 tsp
• Salt - 1/2 tsp
• Eggs - 3
• Sugar - 1/4 cup
• Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
• Condensed milk - 160 ml
• Whole milk - 1 cup
• Evaporated milk - 1 cup
Crème Brûlée Preparation
• Whipped/Heavy cream - 500 ml
• Vanilla essence - 1 tbsp
• Egg yolks - 4
• Sugar - 1/4 cup and 2 tbsp
• Salt - a pinch
Whipped Cream Preparation
• Whipped/Heavy cream - 300 ml
• Icing sugar - 1/4 cup
Kunefe Preparation
• Butter/Ghee - 1/2 cup
• Raw kunefe – 200gm
Lotus Biscoff Spread Preparation
• Lotus Biscoff spread - 200 gm
Process of Making the Dish
Milk Cake Preparation
In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and salt. Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Beat the egg whites until they reach stiff peaks, gradually adding sugar. Whisk the egg yolks with vanilla essence and incorporate them into the dry ingredients. Gently fold in the beaten egg whites. Grease a baking tray with butter and pour in the mixture. Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake for 30 minutes. Allow the cake to cool for 15 minutes. In a bowl, mix condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk. Using a fork, poke holes in the cooled cake and pour the milk mixture over it. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
Crème Brûlée Preparation
Heat the cream and vanilla essence until simmering, then let it cool for 15 minutes. Beat the egg yolks with sugar and salt. Gradually add the cooled cream to the egg yolk mixture. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and place it in a water bath. Preheat the oven to 230°C and bake for 20-25 minutes. Cool slightly and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Whipped Cream Preparation
Beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, gradually adding icing sugar. Refrigerate to keep it cool.
Kunefe Preparation
Cut the Kunefe into small pieces, coat with butter or ghee, and fry until it turns golden brown. Let it cool slightly.
Lotus Biscoff Spread Preparation
Microwave the Lotus Biscoff spread for 30-35 seconds until melted.
Layering Salankante
1. Place the Crème Brûlée dish at the bottom.
2. Add the milk cake on top.
3. Spread the whipped cream over the milk cake.
4. Pour the melted Lotus Biscoff spread over the whipped cream.
5. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
6. Before serving, garnish with the fried golden kunefe and some Lotus biscuit crumbles for decoration.
