The opening groove begins with the drums and keys, then the bass, guitar, then vocals as Clinton “welcomes” the listener into the music. He describes the journey that is to come throughout the next eleven tracks, “It’s a musical ride, free your mind, and you will have a good good time”.
Hearing Clinton’s voice and those tight closed voiced harmonies is like sailing on a smooth sea. Then as the music modulates, Clinton reminds us “not to worry, to do our best,” when we arrive at the chorus, in the relative major key, Clinton says “ Welcome To My World”. It’s a world of joy, music, and exploration that sums up the vibe and connection that Rising Tide and Clinton share.
In the deep groove that comes after the chorus, Clinton says “leave your troubles, leave your sorrows behind”. In the outro, he chants “leave them behind” over and over as the epic guitar solo begins to take us away with Rising Tide’s first guitarist, the acclaimed New York based jazzman, Yotam Silberstein’s fiery riffs . Clinton joins the conversation with some scatting, as the music builds and builds to a climatic end.
