A COP or a Conference of the Parties is defined as the highest-level decision-making body of a multilateral environmental agreement. It is where countries that are Parties to an environmental treaty (such as on climate change or biodiversity) meet to decide how to better achieve their goals and coordinate their efforts.
In this short video, the Earth Negotiations Bulletin team explains how a COP works and what you should expect if you attend one in person. You can follow ENB reporting from environmental negotiations by subscribing to the free ENB Update newsletter at https://bit.ly/enbupdate
